Mehriban Aliyeva familiarizes herself with an exhibition in “G20”-“Yurd” cultural area

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with an exhibition arranged in “G20”-”Yurd” cultural area in Antalya, November 16.

Mehriban Aliyeva, spouse of the Turkish President Emine Erdoğan and spouses of heads of states and governments and international organizations participating in the Summit were given information about the exhibition.

In the cultural area is demonstrated the section of tolerance demonstrating Jalaladdin Rumi and Yunus Emre legacy, the exhibition “Turkish coffee culture”, samples of ebru art, silk garments, and dishes promoting the Turkish cuisine etc..

First, the guests familiarized themselves with samples of the Turkish cuisine. Then information was given about the famous Turkish coffee, its history, and the preparation process. The guests also viewed dishes in which the Turkish coffee was made. Thereafter, the process of making coffee on a hot sand was shown. It was informed that coffee made in this style is more delicious, with specific qualities.

The guests were also given information about Turkish sweets’ preparation methods and their ingredients. In addition, the guests watched the process of making the Turkish manty, and became familiarized with the handicrafts displayed here. Then the guests watched a video trailer reflecting Turkey’s tourism capacity, and its cuisine. Here, the guests were given information about the music instruments and their history, while listening to Turkish national music.

Various items of jewellery are also displayed at the exhibition.

The guests were informed of ebru – traditional Turkish art. Here, they watched the process of making one sample of ebru.

This territory has been organized in order to introduce Turkey’s cultural and historic heritage, art, and traditions to leaders of G20 countries, high-ranking officials participating in the Summit, and journalists. Another objective of arranging the exhibition, which was at the guests disposal during 13-16 November, was to convey the fact of Antalya’s being a place of ancient civilizations, cultural richness, and tolerance.
